What is Diwali?
Every year in October or November, Diwali - a five-day festival is celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains across the globe. It is one of the biggest and most important holidays of the year in India.
Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair. The festival also sends the message of illuminating our inner selves with clarity and positivity.
How its celebrated?
In India, people cover streets and buildings in festive lighting and light fireworks. Households celebrate by decorating their house with small lamps, diyas and other colorful lights.
Families also perform Lakshmi Puja and pray to the Goddess of wealth to bless them with health, wealth, and prosperity.
