with Rina
How do you celebrate Diwali? Do you have any special rituals or traditions?
“Every year, we clean the house as a family tradition to hit reset for the new year. It’s a mindful experience that helps us reorganize our lives and always sparks fun conversations as we move from room to room, rediscovering things we’d forgotten about.”
Do you have a favorite Diwali memory?“
Growing up, we used to take part in big community Diwali celebrations that included a show! I have so many memories of dance practices leading up to it, that’s where lifelong friendships were formed. I look back on that time so fondly and have even shared a few home videos with my kids.”
How do you prepare — mentally, spiritually, or creatively — for the holiday season?
“Everything I do starts with gratitude. I make lots of lists —people I’m grateful for, our favorite family meals I love to cook, and things to do to make our home colorful and festive for the holidays.”
